TITLE: Love Her Wild

AUTHOR: Atticus

RATING: ★★★★

WHERE DID I RECEIVE THIS?: HachetteNZ sent this to me in exchange for an honest review!

Love Her Wild is a collection of new and beloved poems from Atticus, the young writer who has captured the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of avid followers on his Instagram account @atticuspoetry, including superstars like Karlie Kloss and Shay Mitchell. He was dubbed the “#1 poet to follow” by Teen Vogue and “the world’s most tattoo-able” poet by Galore magazine, in Love Her Wild, Atticus captures what is both raw and relatable about the smallest and the grandest moments in life: the first glimpse of a new love in Paris; skinny dipping on a summer’s night; the irrepressible exuberance of the female spirit; or drinking whiskey in the desert watching the rising sun. With honesty, poignancy, and romantic flair, Atticus distills the most exhilarating highs and the heartbreaking lows of life and love into a few perfectly evocative lines, ensuring that his words will become etched in your mind—and will awaken your sense of adventure.

This poetry collection is what I would call pretty. In the war that the stars are at night, not every one shines as bright, but together they’re gorgeous.
Love her wild is a poetry collection written by the instagram sensation @atticuspoetry and speaks of love. This poetry collection revolves mostly around a girl, friends and love and I found myself smiling at many of the poems written down, and the beautiful photography that pulls everything together seamlessly.
I personally always find it a bit hard to rate poetry, as I always find poems that sing to me and others that don’t. A common thing when we don’t all share the same life experiences. I gave this a rating of 4 stars because I more than enjoyed it, but it didn’t wow me. I felt amazed by a lot of the poems in this book, but some really weren’t for me.

This Poetry collection is split into three chapters, Love, Her & Wild. They all speak of a young love, the eternal bliss of being newly in love, & the things that happen in your life. This book is like the story of one persons growth, with a flair for the romantic side of things & is constantly swapping between beautiful one liner poems, and then moving to poems that span a whole page, yet it’s never Jarring.

I feel like this is the kind of poetry collection that is timeless, in the sense I could come back to it years down the track, with different perspectives and get a whole different feeling from it and I love that aspect of this collection.

Overall this was a really enjoyable collection of poetry and I loved every second of reading it. If you’re a fan of modern poetry, or if you loved ‘milk & honey’ or ‘the princess saves herself in this one’ then you should go and pick this up!

Until Next Time,
