First Line Friday #7

So, what’s it about?

First Lines Fridays is a weekly — obviously — feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words where we dare to ask: What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author, or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? It is a meme that allows us to explore the world of fiction.

I myself judge books by their author, cover, and notoriety. So, seeing people do this challenge for months has had me pick up some pretty amazing books

How it works?

• Pick a book off your shelf (it could be a current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page.

• Copy the first few lines, but don’t provide any other details about the book just yet — let’s see if it hooks the reader in!

• Finally…reveal the book!

Hi guys and welcome back to another instalment of First line Fridays! Round 3, let’s go !

“They say the only folks who belonged in Deadshot after dark were the ones who were up to no good. I wasn’t up to no good. Then again, i wasn’t exactly up to no bad neither”

Funnily enough, this sort of, is rather meh for me. And it’s in the way the character talks. I guess I’m just not used to it? But it seems off kilter and It would take me a bit to get used to it. BUT it didn’t make me want to read it more, so I might not pick this up any time soon.

Honestly, I brought this for the cover & because while I couldn’t remember what it was about, I remember being interested in it! But now I’m sort of meh about it. I still want to give it a go, but I have other books on my TBR too.

Until next time,
