Hello and welcome to another installment of Top 5 Tuesdays, a tag hosted by the lovely Shanah, over at thebionicbookworm. the fourth topic for November was,
BOOKS THAT NEED A SERIES OR A SPIN-OFF
So let’s get chatting about that.
I honestly, find that with most books I’ll go, ‘oh that needs a series or a spin off’ and then i’ll find out it ACTUALLY has one…. so this was way harder than I thought
So, hear me out, imagine Andy Weir, tackling a spin off of the Martian where it’s just random stories of Astronauts or people living on other planets, trying to survive or do their thing. With his humor and some kind of plot twist, they would make for an AWESOME series.
THE HATE U GIVE
Okay, listen, A. I would LOVE to hear about Starr when she’s older and B. Imagine a story where she takes on a mentor role to a younger kid, or has some kind of Activist role. Honestly anything to do with Starr and I would be there so fast!
So there IS a goodreads page for a sequel to deathless….. but it keeps getting pushed back, and there’s no info on it OR a cover so….. I don’t even know if it’s happening but IMAGINE the lovely Catherynne M Valente tackling all the Russian folk lore stories with her own twist on them. I would SO love that
I A D O R E D this book, and cried at the end and straight away after? I wanted a spin off series where Megan Spooner writes retellings on all different folk tales. Just the way she writes and the characters she creates would make it such a fun ride
THE LANGUAGE OF THORNS
Now, I know this is a spin off to the Grisha World, but I’m talking a DIRECT sequel. Either more magical Fairytales for us to fawn over, or maybe a collection of stories where the fairytales come true or something. I don’t know, just take my money.
That’s it for today and for the month of November! I hope to see you abck here for the first T5T post in December
Till next time,
