Hi guys and welcome to the first installment of TOP 5 TUESDAY’S for December. Today we kick off the Christmas month, with top 5 cozy winter reads. Because I live in the Southern Hemisphere, Christmas time is in the heat of summer, which I wont lie, sucks. I’d love a white Christmas, but for now I’ll just focus on books that I think make super cozy winter reads
HUNTED BY MEGAN SPOONER
This felt like a cozy read to me because it’s set in winter, and is a beauty and the beast retelling, it was all kinds of adorable, and I actually read this all in one day; while curled up in bed
STALKING JACK THE RIPPER BY KERRI MANISCALCO
This is creepy ad gruesome. It’s full of autopsies and murder and honestly that’s like the perfect winter read? Reading this just made me want to hide under the covers as i delved into the mystery of this novel
THE MARA DYER TRILOGY BY MICHELLE HODKINS
One of my ALL TIME favourite trilogy’s. It’s super creepy, it has scary super hero undertones, with a main character who isn’t really a hero at all.
THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE BY KATHRINE ARDEN
Another one of my favourite reads this year, The bear and the nightingale is set in Russia, in a forest that is always snowing. This is based off Russian folklore and it was poetic as hell.
WINTERSONG S. J JONES
This was a poetic and heart wrenching telling of the Goblin King and a girl who falls in love with him. It killed me in the best and worst ways honestly. The wintery part of this novel is the fact that if something happens, the world will go into eternal winter
So there are my 5 wintery reads. The last three were actually some of my favourite books of 2017 so I can’t wait to re read them.
Have you read and enjoyed these books?
If so, let me know down below.
Until next time,
