Celebrate the tenth anniversary of Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones with this gorgeous new edition, complete with special content and exclusive color illustrations.

The tenth anniversary of Cassandra Clare’s phenomenal City of Bones demands a luxe new edition. The pride of any fan’s collection, City of Bones now has new cover art, gilded edges, over thirty interior illustrations, and six new full-page color portraits of everyone’s favorite characters! This beautifully crafted collector’s item also includes the Clave’s official files on some of the series’ most beloved characters, written by Cassandra Clare. A perfect gift for the Shadowhunter fan in your life.

This is the book where Clary Fray first discovered the Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world and back to their own. The book where she first met Jace Wayland, the best Shadowhunter of his generation. The book that started it all.

Today I’m really talking about the 10th edition and it’s value as a city of bones lover, not so much the story ( but spoiler alert; I LOVED it so much ! )

This edition is massive when compared to the original edition, and it boasts a canvas cover with beautiful embossing in silver. I think how this book was made was fantastic as it feels like you’re really getting a special edition of something you might already love.

Something beautiful in this book, are the end papers, they are magnificent drawings of Clary Fray & Jace Wayland zoomed up. It makes the end papers for once feel useful since they often just what helps hold a book together.

After the end papers there are 6 glossy images of the main characters in the story, Simon, Izzy, Alec, Magnus, Clary, and Jace. continuing forward there is a black and white map, with the locations marked down so you can really see where the gang goes throughout this tale. My favourite part of the map, is the fact that the locations have been zoomed up on, allowing you to see store fronts, the institute & their houses etc etc. It gives you some images to run off when reading the book and makes me feel like I’m more ingrained in the story if I can visualize where it’s taking place in.

Throughout the novel, each chapter boasts a small drawing, and there are about 5 black and white images spread throughout the novel and to end it ? There are files on our main characters from the Clave which gives an interesting insight into what the clave things of them.

Overall I think this is the perfect thing to buy if you’ve already read this book and loved it, or even for a present as it offers so much more than just the story.

Until Next Time,
