it’s wrap up time… but don’t get your hopes up high

Hi guys, do you even remember me?

Truthfully I know it hasn’t been that long, and sure this blog isn’t the biggest. But I hope someone missed me!!! I’ve finally recovered from a frantic end of year, and I’m ready to get back into what I love, reading & blogging!

WHAT I READ

So, in good old November, I read a total oooooooooof

RETREAT – JAW CROWNOVER

STAR RATING 2,5

I was a woman on the edge, shaken and shattered after a breakup that felt like it tore my entire world apart.

My best friend, sick of watching me drown in misery and melancholy, harassed me until I agreed to go with her on a week-long wilderness retreat.

She promised days spent bonding and getting in touch with our inner bad-asses.

It was supposed to be all about the two of us roughing it and making do with the bare minimum. She assured me we were going to be pushed to our limits in ways that were unimaginable. Neither one of us could have ever guessed just how right she was.

Retreat is a standalone novel, the first in the Getaway series which centers on the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women that dare to love them.

This was decent at the time, but I forgot I even read it so I’m sure that says enough.

THE BAREFOOT INVESTER – SCOTT PAPE

STAR RATING 5

Saving up a six-figure house deposit in 20 months Doubling your income using the ‘Trapeze Strategy’ Saving $78,173 on your mortgage and wiping out 7 years of payments Finding a financial advisor who won’t rip you off Handing your kids (or grandkids) a $140,000 cheque on their 21st birthday Why you don’t need $1 million to retire … with the ‘Donald Bradman Retirement Strategy’

Sound too good to be true? It’s not.

This book is full of stories from everyday Aussies β€” single people, young families, empty nesters, retirees β€” who have applied the simple steps in this book and achieved amazing, life-changing results.

And you’re next.

This was quick and pretty useful. The first non fiction book in a long time that I really enjoyed. I feel like it’s changed how I look at finance.

WHAT I DID IN NOVEMBER

November started off with nine exams, so I stressed about them like crazy.

Then, I turned 21 (woohoo)

After that, I returned to playing Elder Scrolls online and sleeping my youth away.

And only last night, I read a poem of mine out infront of over 40 people… it was terrifying.

Overall it’s been a pretty quiet month but I’ve managed to fit alot in and I know I wouldn’t have had the courage to do it all this time last year. So yay for personal growth.
