My fall (spring) TBR

MY FALL / SPRING TBR

BLOG POST PSD (1) (1) (1) (1)

Hello bookworms,

How are you today? Now I get it, this title is a little confusing. But for all you non-Americans, and non-north hemispherians, it’s spring for me/the southern hemisphere right now, obviously, so while this TBR is kind of geared towards the spooky season, it’s technically not a fall TBR, you feel me?

So let’s just get into the TBR.

SEQUELS

I really need to stop putting off reading sequels and finishing series, honestly.

THE DREAM THIEVES – MAGGIE STIEFVATER
Tbh, I don’t think my bestie reads my blog (thank god) but she has been on my case for over a year to read this series, so to appease her, and because I did truthfully love The Raven Boys, I’m picking up this.

HUNTING PRINCE DRACULA – KERRI MANISCALCO
Funnily enough, I’ve owned this since the day it came out and was never interested in it. But in the last month, I’ve just seen such good things about this series, and with spooky season arriving, it honestly feels perfect.

CROOKED KINGDOM – LEIGH BARDUGO
Listen. I read NINTH HOUSE and loved it, and then my friend went and read six of crows and then moved onto crooked kingdom before me !!!!!!!! I can’t have that !!!!!! My competitive nature will not allow it so uh, I’m reading this ASAP

DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT – LAINI TAYLOR
I have to admit, this one is the one I’m most worried about. I was pretty into the first book, but not so much so that I thought I would be super excited for the sequel. In saying that though, there is something about Laini’s writing that I adore and want to learn more about to one day be able to write as well as her so, I’ll try.

MANGA

I don’t need to work on my manga really, sure I have quite a few to get to but for some reason, I don’t feel the massive urge to push through these like novels, BUT I would love to finally finish a manga series.

DEATHNOTE (BLACK EDITION – VOL 5 & 6 )

So why not finish the one I started? I just recently bought these last two books, and the mystery/crime elements to this manga make it perfect for this season. In all honesty I’m apprehensive about how this is going to end because I read the first volume on AUGUST 13th 2 0 1 7, sh**. I genuinely didn’t realise how long it’s been. So that is motivation enough to say, Deathnote, it’s time to walk hand in hand to your end.

STAND ALONES

doN’T START ANY MORE SERIES S A R A H. Honestly. I am in the middle of FAR too many series and luckily, it’s not something that stresses me out, but it is something I should work on, y’know, stopping. So here are some stand alones I want to get to this Spring/Fall/Spoopy season.

ELEVATOR PITCH – LINWOOD BARCLAY
What’s creepier than a mystery crime novel about people being killed inside elevators? nothing. I am already wary of elevators, so let’s turn that wary into damn terrified and never using one again! I’m ready!

SCORPIO RACES – MAGGIE STIEFVATER
Maggie is another one of my writing crushes. I love the way she writes and I hope one day, to be able to write like her too. So, I thought y’know instead of putting off reading all her books, when I literally own 5 of them that I need to read, maybe I should make some progress on that?

CIRCE – MADELINE MILLER
This was a buy because I read the first page at work, and fell a little in love honestly.
I think the way it is written is beautiful, and a greek tragedy-esque story feels somehow perfect for dark nights and rainy season.

SO, I have an ambitious TBR don’t I?
Let’s see how many I can fit into my October TBR

Are any of these your favourites?

  1. The cover of Circe is sooo beautiful… I’ve been hesitant to pick it up thought because it’s pretty far out of my normal reading tastes! Looking forward to your thoughts on it, good luck with this TBR!
