Quarterly Goals OCT – DEC !

QUARTERLY GOALS

BLOG POST PSD (1) (1) (1) (6).png

Hello Bookworms, let’s talk goals.

I am someone who likes numbers, alot. It’s a bit of a problem because it makes everything become about quantity over quality, which isn’t always the best thing. But at the same time, it could be worse.

I’m trying to put my number orientated habits into good use, by making quarterly goals that I find fun to push towards and at the same time challenging. So Let’s talk about each goal I have set for myself to accomplish by the end of the year.

READING RELATED GOALS

1, READ 25 BOOKS
On average, I’m reading 7-10 books per month so I thought somewhere in the middle would be challenging enough without being overwhelming. I’m not too worried about not being able to hit this as I’m in the middle of three Manga series that I can continue with if I need to bulk up my numbers.
2. READ 70% OF MY OWN BOOKS EACH MONTH
I have a habit of getting a lot of books from publishers or borrowing books from friends/work. For the next three months, I really want to focus on trimming down my physical TBR which means focusing on all those books I’ve brought over time and haven’t gotten around to reading yet. I’ll calculate this at the end of each month to see what percentage I get
3. CATCH UP ON 3 SERIES
So, I have a double spread page in my reading journal dedicated to keeping up with the series I’m reading. I haven’t updated it in a while but it was already chocker full of series I was halfway through. So, I want to make progress on five series. I’m not going to be too strict, if I read the next book in a series but don’t finish the whole series, that still counts. I just need to make some form of progress in five series at least.

NON READING RELATED GOALS

4. REACH THE END OF ARC 1 OF CODENAME: DITS
For once in my life, this seems, achievable. I’m in a good mood as I write this though, and yesterday I was laugh-crying on my floor, googling ‘why do I procrastinate my novel’ so…. there is that. But I am already halfway through this. There are 10 chapters, and I want each chapter to be 3,000 words by the end of the year. I’ve got two chapters at 2k roughly already, one at 1k and two at 400ish words so I think this is completely feasible.
5. INTERACT MORE ON MY BOOK RELATED SOCIAL MEDIAS.
While some people are really good at doing this, I am not. I need to make more of an effort to connect with other readers and book lovers, so I want to set aside 15 minutes most days to just catch up on how everyone is doing and to actually COMMENT on things.

So, they all seem pretty easy, but I am a class A procrastinator so we’ll see if any of this actually get done.
Do you have any goals for the rest of the year?
