3 TIPS TO PICK THE PERFECT 24-HOUR READATHON BOOK

BLOG POST PSD (1) (1) (2)

Hello Bookworms,

Are you about to participate in a 24 hour readathon? Well look no further because I have some advice on what kinds of books you should pick.

So, whenever you enter a short readathon, you want to succeed, right? But what is success in a readathon? Is it reading the most books you can in a short amount of time, or just trying to finish a book? Either is equally valid and this post will benefit both of those approaches!

The obvious first tip is,
PICK A BOOK UNDER 400 PAGES.
Well, I would pick a book under 400 pages. Simply because of how fast I read. Do you read 100 pages an hour roughly? Then a book with max 500 pages is a safe place. If you’re a slower reader, I would go with a max of 300. The shorter the book, the less daunting the task is.

PICK A EASY TO READ GENRE AND BOOK.
I definietly don’t recommend a book where you have to stop reading and think about what is really going on. Readathon books are better if they’re books you can get lost in. Think sequels, favourite authors, or genres you enjoy! For me, I’ll pick any genre, but I will make sure it’s a book I can loose myself in.

PICK SOMETHING YOU ARE ANTICIPATING.
I am bad for not doing this. I’ll think about how big my TBR is, and I’ll go for something I’m not super excited for, but still want to get to. Sometimes it works, but sometimes, I am left not wanting to pick the book up, and watching the hours tick by as I distract myself with games or TV. So pick something you just can’t wait to get to. It means you’ll be more likely to pick it up and read more!

So, when you go to pick your book or books for a readathon, check,
Is it at a readable length for you?
Is it an easy read?
Is it something you’re excited to read?

If the answer is yes to all of those, then you’ve found the perfect book to read for your readathon! Hooray!

I hope this helped some of you!
