Hello bookworms and welcome to my reading plans for 2020.

I have to admit, I’ve had these planned since October because I love planning way too much! But either way, I think these three goals will really help me keep my reading going in the direction I want it to. So let’s see what they are.

This one sounds hard to quantify, but I have a plan. I want to focus on reading the books I want to read, not the shortest or quickest read to buff up my numbers. To pull this off, I want to write a mini-review for each book I read and to spend as much tike on each novel as I want, instead of rushing through to hit a number goal.

In saying all that, I still want to read 75 books. I’m a contradicting mess, aren’t I? In years past I’ve hit 130, 90ish and then 90ish again. So with that info I know that much is possible again, the difference this time, is I really want to get some bigger and denser books reads this year, so I want a low goal so I can really focus on spending as much time as I need to read those books.

Okay, I will be the first to admit that I don’t actually know the exact number of my TBR, even though I have a tbr bookcase list thing HERE. Because every single time I’ve counted how many I am, I’ve come to a different number. Either way, I want to be under 100 when the year ends, even if it’s 99, it’s still far better than the roughly 140-150 I have right now.

Okay folks, that’s it! I have only given myself three main goals because each quarter I will make new goals for the next three months that are shorter and more specific!

Do you have any goals for the year?
Tell them to me down below!

  1. Happy New Year and good luck with your goals! Reading many books in one year doesn’t necessarily mean a “good reading year”, so I’m all for quality over quantity. I could also use a goal like this and finally read the longest books on my shelves. 🙂

  2. I’m also focusing on quality over quantity and not reading a bunch of short reads just for the sake of it. I did this with readathons and wasn’t very satisfied with the outcome in the end.

  3. I love the idea of quality over quantity. I have been shifting more towards that the past few months and it has made a huge difference for me. A few goals I have for myself are read 50 books, use the library more and read a book from each continent, I do this one every year. I have quite a bit more, smaller ones and different parts of my life, but those are the bigger reading related ones.
