WHAT IS THIS?

This is where I write mini-reviews for books I’ve read each month, that AREN’T review books. I find mini-reviews are a more relaxing way to do things and who doesn’t love the number 3?

IF WE WERE VILLAINS
M.L RIO
5 STARS

WHO DO I RECOMMEND THIS TO: lovers of shakespeare, drama, poetry, macabre subjects and those who love a good mystery.

I have to admit guys, this took over a month to read. I kept wanting to DNF it, because I had been spoiled for alot of the things that happened in this novel, and it made me loose my drive to find out who done it. BUT. I am so glad I continued on. This was on my 5 STAR PREDICTIONS list, and it lived up to the hype. I was a blubbering mess at the end of this and honestly adored it. It broke my heart in the best way possible.

NIGHT
ELIE WIESEL
4 STARS

WHO DO I RECOMMEND THIS TO: everyone needs to read this.

Personally, I found this one incredibly hard to rate. Because the idea of rating someones trauma and such a hugely disgusting event, is impossible. The best way I can explain how this makes you feel is harrowed. Because while of course we know what happened, hearing it from someone who experienced that pain and horror is hard to read. My favourite part was the last line, because of how impactful it was, but I won’t spoil that for you. We follow Elie Wiesel as he travels through concentration camps as a child and the horrors he was forced to endure while in them. I think we have no right to forget the past, and so I would recommend this book to everyone.

FENCE #2
C.S PASCAT
5 STARS

WHO DO I RECOMMEND THIS TO: Lovers of sport, LGBTQIA+ books and comics.

COMPILES ISSUES 5-8. Gosh, The best way to explain this comic is to say it is down to earth in the best way. It feels like a comic of a real world school and all the characters feel so dimensional, even though we barely see into their backstory or world. I was laughing at points of this, and amazed by others. The art is so cool and I adore our main character who is determined and honestly hilarious. I also really appreciate the fact that you can see a LGBTQIA+ relationship forming.
