How are you?
As is typical in my life, after a good reading month, I start to tank down into a reading slump, and thats what happened here in February. The first half of the month was rough as I tried to fight off the slump, and then
TOKYO GHOUL #9
Honestly, this was the first volume (since volume 1) that I didn’t love? I didn’t hate this one, obviously, however I could really see how this slowed down. It was necessary as it was the set up for the second and final arc of the story, but it meant that reading this volume just wasn’t super fun. But of course, there were enough amazing moments to keep me happy.
I found this difficult to rate because it’s someones LIFE, their trauma y’know? Either was this was the perfect length and a very important read in my opinion. I’m glad I finally got around to this and that I took the time to read it.
This is funny, real and down to earth. I would be DEVESTATED if I didn’t know that both a continuation and a YA novel spin off have been approved because I can’t get enough of this. It reminds me of a very light hearted and softer version of AFTG. There is humor, depth and romance brewing. I adore every part of this.
TOKYO GHOUL #10
There was a lot of development in this volume and I LOVED that. We see a big change in Kaneki, some new villains are introduced, others have their stories furthered. This had a cliff hanger of an ending but I felt so happy to be reading it and it reminded me of how much i truly adore this series and world.
TOKYO GHOUL #11
Sooooooooo, I no longer have a heart because this volume ruined me. It was high drama and completley reminded me of why I am in love with this series. We saw Ken fight with his humanity and a new side to the doves and just ugh, it was amazing.
This was so good !
It’s a steampunk 19th century alternate history manga set in Europe. I honestly adored the historical elements and the interactions between characters. This is a sequel to the original series LEVIUS but I adored this on its own. It gives a good recap and then sets up for where the rest of the series is going to go. I’m excited to see where it moves to!
QUEEN OF RUIN
I cried happy tears and sad tears. I honestly REALLY enjoyed this book. It has an addictively fast pace, great characters and a storyline that I love. This is what I think of when I think of peak YA feminist fantasy. It is the sequel to GRACE AND FURY and it was just, great.
