Now onto my answers!

Best book you’ve read so far in 2020?

It’s telling that I can’t think of anything… My mind goes to the starless sea, yet I read that last year so let’s look through the reading journal.
Fun fact. I have given out 12 5 star ratings out of 36 books read. However, 11 of them were for comics/manga and only one for a novel! I think, based on the ratings I have given this manga series, it has earned it’s place thus far as the best book I’ve read this year.

This was a traumatic and amazing ride. I was left crying like an absolute baby so many times that it’s honestly not even funny anymore. I didn’t give every volume 5 stars and it wasn’t perfect but I can’t think of this series without getting that warm feeling, so it’s earned it’s spot.

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2020

This year’s reading has been TERRIBLE thanks to going to uni and starting a degree that takes a lot of work on my part. So I have barely been reading in general, let alone attempting to continue series. But out of the few I’ve read, I think it has to be

This was both heart warming and heart breaking. It deals with some very heavy topics while also showing young love blossoming between these two boys in the sweetest way possible. I think it was a really well done sequel that will allow a lot of teens to relate to characters and see themselves represented which is important.

New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

There is actually only one. I haven’t been keeping up with the new releases in all honesty as I haven’t been around in the book world much! But this one I knew was coming out when it was first announced and as of typing this, it has finally been ordered! Maybe I’ll even read it this month (July)

I adore everything Mark Lawrence has written that I’ve read (5 books & 1 short story thus far) I can’t get enough of his book of the ancestor world and I am so so so happy to dive back into it.

New Project (5) (4)

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

Again, I haven’t really been in the book world so I don’t have an answer off the top of my head but I will check my ‘on my radar’ shelf on goodreads to see if there is even anything on there for this!

This is a YA novel that follows on from the graphic novel series I believe…… I believe. Either way, I adore that series and NEED the continuation !

New Project (5) (4)

Biggest disappointment

This one is the lowest rated book this year, and it kind of deserves it.

This was just bland and honestly a little terrible. I had been given the history of bees for my birthday and they’re both by Maja Lunde and honestly? my dislike for this story has made me not want to pick up THO.

New Project (5) (4)

Biggest surprise

This one is a general surprise. Even though it got 4 stars, I really wasn’t expecting to be so in love with this story, and have it kick start a love for a MASSIVE fandom.

This is what led me down the rabbit hole of loving star wars and anything star wars related. I fell in love with the characters and the world. This book was truly the best starting point for me to dive into and I don’t regret it at all.

New Project (5) (4)

Favourite new author (debut or new to you)

This is a new author to me, and was her debut book!

I initially gave wicked saints 4 stars, but in all honestly, it’s been one of the few YA fantasies to stick in my head and be something I come back to thinking of. I really enjoyed everything Emily did with this and it makes me so excited to read her upcoming works + Ruthless gods which is sitting on my TBR

Newest fictional crush

Literally most of the characters in the star wars universe. Dear lord star wars has taken over my life. 3 books into the canon timeline and I would give my life for so many of these wonderful characters.

When will the star wars hype end? Not today

These two wormed their way into my heart, and have stuck their firmly. I adored them both in the phantom menace and felt my heart break throughout master & apprentice for Qui-Gonn. I’m currently slowly reading queens shadow too and adoring seeing Padme in more depth. They are just such heartfelt characters.

New Project (5) (4)

Book that made you cry

I am purposely not choosing a star wars book but I will admit 2 of the 3 I’ve read thus far have made me cry. But instead, I’m choosing

This is the last volume in the first series of this world and the ending is SO bittersweet. It is the right ending, and it is perfect but that doesn’t stop it from ripping out your heart (or, mine at least) I was a MESS reading the end of that, yikes.

New Project (5) (4)

Book that made you happy

This one was easy as it gave me such a happy, warm feeling when I finished it

This had a perfect ending and while it was open to continue, it felt properly wrapped up. I adored seeing the characters in more depth and I honestly couldn’t have thought of a better way to end the series, and leave it open for a continuation series

Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)

I’m going to have to pass on this answer. I haven’t aquired any special editions this year, and nothing is jumping to mind on a beautiful cover. So I must not have got one with a stand out cover!

New Project (5) (4)

What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

Let’s try like all of my TBR? But in general, I don’t have any that I have to read, I just want to get through more books than I purchase so that my TBR can stop turning into mount doom!
